All of that to say, I finally purchased an Oura ring this past December when they released a limited amount of the Gucci collab versions avaie. Of course, like any girl that usually picks the more luxurious option, I wanted the Gucci version (even though I initially wouldn’t spend just a couple hundred on the “regular” Oura ring).
To be fair, the Gucci ring is gorgeous – it is black with 18 karat gold braiding detail, including the Gucci logo in gold, and then small, subtle indentations of the Gucci logo all around the ring. Before we get into what I love (and love less) about it and why I bought it, let’s discuss what it does.
What Does the Oura Ring Do?
“The wearable technology ring unlocks a unique perspective given by hidden messages from the body, empowering individuals to connect with themselves throughout the day via wellness insights.” – Gucci’s site boasts. And rightfully so.

This multi-functional ring does way more than just look good on your finger. With its advanced technology and integrated sensors, the Gucci Oura ring can help you stay on top of your health and wellness goals, whatever they may be.
For example, you can use it to track your daily activity levels so you know when to take an extra walk or turn in for the night. You can also use it to monitor your sleep patterns. Finally, this innovative piece of jewelry can even track your stress levels so that you know when it is time to relax and refocus.
As an added bonus (one of the main reasons I purchased this ring) – it will track your body temperature. For anyone tracking their menstrual cycle, having this ring automatically take your temperature is pretty convenient. I currently have my Oura ring app connected to Natural Cycles, which has made cycle tracking so much more effortless (read: requires less remembering from me!)
Pros + Cons:
Pros:
- Less clunky than an Apple watch;
- Very attractive, can pass as regular jewelry;
- Assisted cycle tracking;
- Conversation starter!
Cons:
- A little bulky, but you get used to it after the first week or so;
- Logo Indentations make it easier for dirt/debris to get caught;
- The app says it can last up to 7 days charged, however mine usually lasts about 4-5;
- Could technically scratch, but is black so not as noticeable (titanium with PVD coating).
Was It Worth It?
All in all, I’m really happy with my purchase considering all of the cool new insights I have. I am able to take note of different actions that I’m doing all day long and especially right before bed. ..even things that I’m eating that are affecting my sleep patterns. I had no idea that I was waking up at certain points of the night! The coolest feature is the “readiness score” which will rate, on a scale of 1-100, how “ready” you are for the day. It is really accurate, too – just a few weeks ago I was sick and felt like I got hit by a truck, and the app told me I was hovering around a 48%. Today, I woke up well-rested after a good night’s sleep and woke up to a 90%!

The Gucci version will cost you more than a standard Oura ring ($300-400), but you do get a lifetime membership to your ring’s data with your Gucci x Oura ring, which would usually run you $5.99/month to access. So if you’re willing to pay a bit more for gold detailing and lifetime access, then this is a great deal. Whether you want to take charge of your wellness journey or simply wear something beautiful and unique on your finger, there’s no denying that the Gucci Oura ring is an excellent choice.
