Since today is National Sunscreen Day, I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts on some of the Supergoop sunscreen skincare products I’ve been absolutely LOVING lately.
I purchased three of the four products below for our recent trip to Mexico, where we were outside in the sun on most days with no place to really retouch or fix my makeup. Since I’m a no-makeup girlie 90% of the time, I was really spiraling out knowing that I wanted to wear light makeup and take cute pictures throughout our trip, but I also didn’t want my makeup melting off. Cue Supergoop.
Supergoop Mineral Matte Sunscreen
This Mineral Matte Sunscreen is invisible on the skin, which is great for those of us who don’t want to look like we’re wearing sunscreen. It’s also lightweight and non-greasy, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. Just like buttah.
The best part about this sunscreen is that it works as a makeup-gripping primer – and it lasted me 8-10+ hours on oily skin in the hot sun, so I’m sure it will do wonders under yours. I’m so glad I found this sunscreen! It’s my new go-to for under-makeup wear.
Supergoop Glow Stick
I love the Supergoop Glow Stick! It’s the perfect product for adding a little bit of sun-kissed glow to your skin. (But not too much glow, either. My husband used it without it being too shimmery on his fairer skin).
It’s easy to apply and gives a natural-looking sheen. I loved how quickly I could glide it on given our tight tourist schedule in Mexico. Plus, the size made it easy to fit in my bag, so reapplying in the hot sun was a breeze. Oh – and did I mention it is 50 SPF?! Que protective.
I highly recommend the Glow Stick to anyone looking for a lightweight, easy-to-apply sunscreen that gives a natural-looking glow. A much better solution to the sticky, greasy, oily sunscreen that we grew up with.
Supergoop Resetting Mineral Power
After an entire morning of hiking up a mountain to visit a 300+ year old capilla, an hour-long car ride across the city, and another hour or so enjoying the floating gardens of Xochimilco – having the Resetting Mineral Powder handy was so clutch. The only downside was the size – it was a little larger for a resetting powder – but I made room in my bag because it is totally worth it.
This is a great product for touch-ups throughout the day. It’s lightweight and non-irritating, and it helps to absorb excess oil and sweat. I love using it to freshen up my makeup AND sunscreen after a long day in the sun. Plus – it’s SPF 35!
Supergoop Daily Dose Hydra-Ceramide Boost + SPF 40 Oil
After thoroughly loving the matte sunscreen, the glow stick, and the mineral powder – I knew I could trust Supergoop. You know when you’ve reached that point with a brand where you’re just like, “take my money?!” I’m there.
On days that I don’t wear makeup, I typically round out my skincare routine with a strong SPF…and I was in search of something that wouldn’t clog my pores since I am acne-prone.
The Supergoop Daily Dose Oil is a lightweight, hydrating oil that provides broad spectrum SPF 40 protection. It is formulated with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and squalane to help replenish and fortify the skin barrier. Major bonus points: the oil is also non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores. Since grabbing it, I’ve used the Daily Dose Oil every morning after I cleanse and moisturize my face. It leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, and protected from the sun.
I will add that if you add too much oil and sweat soon thereafter, it may get into your eyes and be a bit irritating – but it doesn’t sting. Just apply evenly and wash your face before working out and you’re set.
Obviously, I highly recommend all of these Supergoop products. They’re all great for everyday wear, and they’re perfect for protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. If I’ve learned one thing from my facialists, it’s how important it is to wear sunscreen daily if you want to protect your skin AND slow the aging process!
Here’s some quick tips for using sunscreen:
- Apply to your face and (exposed) body every day, even on cloudy days.
- Reapply sunscreen every two hours, or more often if you’re sweating or swimming.
- Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
- Look for a sunscreen that is non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog your pores.
Enjoy your Supergoop summer!
